We accidentally stumbled upon Taft's Ale House today without even really knowing it. We wandered passed a new bar called Nelly's. And as it turns out Nelly's is Taft's downstairs neighborhood bar...
It took us a minute to figure out just where we were...
For some reason, I thought Taft's Ale House was further up Race Street. We had to try some of their beers...
Genifer's favorite was the Culebra Cut Coconut Brown, and mine was the Maverick Chocolate Porter. The Maverick reminded me of the Sonoran White Chocolate Beer we had out in Phoenix during Spring Training. More like a darker cousin to the Sonoran.
We also had a bite to eat, and I totally spaced on taking photos. We shared the steak bites starter. Then had a couple of beef brisket sliders. And oh my, were they delicious! After eating, we wandered upstairs to check out the Beer Hall...
Amazing place. We can't wait to come back and spend more time at Taft's Ale House! :)
