We listened to the end of the Cyclones Eastern Conference semi-final game against the
Fort Wayne Komets last night online. The 'Clones ended up losing the game 2-1 when the
Komets scored at the 19:52 mark in the third period. Yeah. They lost the game with EIGHT
seconds left. The kicker was the Reds were playing the Milwaukee Brewers and apparently
EVERYONE went to the Reds game because there were only 1300 people at Friday night's
playoff hockey game. Friday's Reds game at GABP was in front of 32,953 people...
Tonight, we decided to do our part to support our hometown hockey franchise and help
them get a couple more butts in the seats at US Bank Arena...
US Bank Arena was pretty much a ghost town...
At the end of the first, it was nil-nil...
1-0 CYCLONES!
2-0 CYCLONES!!
It started getting pretty chippy...
Still 2-1 Cyclones...
C'mon 'Clones...
3-1 CYCLONES!!!
And 4-1 CYCLONES!!!!
Like I said, it was getting pretty chippy...
The Cyclones added an empty netter!
And the Cyclones took Game 2 by the score of 5-2...
The best of seven series is all knotted at one heading to Fort Wayne!
The Cyclones evened up the series at 1-1 in front of 1731 people. We did our small part
to support our favorite hockey team! GO CYCLONES! Take back the Kelly Cup! :)
ps. The Reds won as well, 6-2 in front of 38,243. :/ Go Cyclones & go Redlegs!
Oh, and the Cyclones game and the Reds game ended right around the same time...
Traffic was just ridiculous downtown. Thank goodness we could just walk home! :)
