Tonight, we walked up to the Gateway Quarter in OtR to check out the soft opening
of a new little Asian gastropub called Quan Hapa. It's owned by the same guys that
blessed Cincinnati with the deliciousness that is Pho Lang Thang at Findlay Market.
Ironically, Quan Hapa is just across the street from Kaze, the other new OtR Asian joint.
To say that the place is not big would be an understatement. We made sure to get
there early to get a seat at the bar. The rest of the seating was family style...
The place was starting to fill up pretty quick...
We ordered a couple of of their steamed bun sliders...
We ordered the Hapa Sliders...
Pulled pork with yuzu+blood orange marmalade, pickled onions and fried egg.
And we ordered the Spider Sliders...
Soft shell crab with miso aioli, picked onions and wakame. And why yes, our sliders do
seem to have legs. There was a whole crab split between the two sliders, legs and all.
Both sliders were absolutely delicious. Amazing flavors.
And after eating our sliders, we were stuffed. We were hoping to their Okonomiyaki,
or Japanese pancakes served with Japanese mayo, bacon and egg but it wasn't going
to happen on this trip. But now we have something to look forward for next time.
Quan Hapa is yet another wonderful addition to the Gateway Quarter in OtR.
