Over 300 people gathered on Fountain Square today at lunchtime "Samba on the Square"
and they might have just set a world record.
The event was organized to celebrate the opening of the "Butterflies of Brazil" show at
Krohn Conservatory in Eden Park. The event aimed to break what organizers believed
was the world record for the largest samba dance. They thought the record was more
than 800 dancers set back in 2010 in Brazil. But in an interesting turn of events,
the official record recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records was a mere 250.
