Halloween!

After the hockey game, I went out to check out the Halloween costumes at Bartini's...














I love Halloween. It's so much fun to see everyone all dressed up in their costumes.

Hockey is back in Cincinnati!

Tonight was the home opener for the defending Kelly Cup champion Cincinnati Cyclones!
I got to US Bank Arena extra early so I wouldn't miss the banner raising ceremony.

I might have got to the arena a little too early...

But it was $1 hot dog night so I ate hot dogs while I waited for the festivities to start.





My seat was right behind the Cyclones bench...

But when the game started I moved up a little bit higher to see the game better...

The Cyclones had really awesome new jerseys emblazoned with a Kelly Cup banner...


And tonight was the last time the Kelly Cup will be in Cincinnati.


After the game, it got packaged up and shipped off to parts unknown.

It was a good game. Unfortunately, the Cyclones lost their home opener 7-3. :(

But they'll get another chance to get their first home winner of the season on Tuesday.

Tonight's the night!

Happy Halloween!

I know that today is technically Halloween Eve. But everything will be happening this
evening. Now get out there and get yourself some candy.

And we're right back to more gorgeousness.

The coolest jack-o-latern I've ever seen. Ever.

I don't know what the pumpkins will look like at “Pimp That Pumpkin” tonight up at
the Pendelton Art Center. But I can't imagine they'd look cooler than this. Because this
is complete and total bad-assery at its finest...

NOTE: OMG. I just looked to see where Pendleton Art Center is and that is a looong
walk from my apartment in the wrong direction, through an area I'm not really all that
comfortable walking through. And at this point, you might say, "You have a car. Just
drive." But if I get my car out of the garage, it's going to see Oh No, Oh My at NST.
Just saying. And besides, driving kinda sucks. So sorry Pimp That Pumpkin.

It's almost Halloween!

And to celebrate, I got two pumpkin head cookies from Servatii pastry shop...

Overcast and grey and bleh.

That was today was... Overcast and grey and bleh. Throw in windy and a bit chilly
and you've pretty much summer up the Cincinnati weather today. Bleh. Oh, and ick.




But I can't really complain about the weather because October has just been gorgeous.

Can you think of a better way to spend $6.99?

A Ninja Kit that completes any warrior's costume? And for only $6.99? You gotta be
kidding me. That's a steal. It was all I could do to keep myself from taking this slice of
awesome home with me. There was a long raging internal debate. And I decided to wait.
For now. Because the only thing that would be better than a Ninja Kit for a measly $6.99
would be a Ninja Kit for 50% off of $6.99 the minute Halloween is over.

Right next to the Ninja Kit was a Pirate Kit, which was cool but not nearly as cool the
Ninja Kit. Because ninjas are cool; and by cool, I mean totally sweet. And so today in
the long, epic battle between ninjas and pirates, ninjas bested pirates. Again.

This is what it looks like when I'm working at work.

If you were four inches tall and sitting right under the monitor in my office.

I've never noticed this Obey Giant mural before.

I was walking from Cappel's costume shop to Rice Rocket for lunch and found a Shephard
Fairey mural that I had never seen before. It's downtown on Ninth Street between Walnut
and Main streets. That's crazy. Who knew? I guess I don't walk down Ninth Street very
much. And by very much, I mean ever.

Shhh. Milan is sleeeeeeeping.

This is my evening...

The Celtics vs. Cavaliers game on the big screen. And Game One of the World Series on
the little screen. Great sports night. For a Wednesday.

UPDATE: Last night, the Celtic's beat the Heat with Lebron James. Tonight, the Cavs beat
the Celtic's without Lebron James. The irony in that is classic. Maybe Lebron should have
kept his ego in Cleveland.

More evening gorgeousness.

I stopped by Righteous Room to have a couple of beers after work. Righteous Room is the
exact midpoint between work and home. And they always have a Bell's beer on tap. Perfect.
And the perfect end to hump day. Today it was Bell's Best Brown. Yum.

The NBA Season begins tonight!

The Boston Celtics tip-off a new season tonight at TD Garden against the Miami Heat.


And I hope Gino makes an appearance at tonight's game. That would be brilliant.
The game is on TNT and coverage starts at 7:30pm! GO C's!!!

UPDATE: So the Celtics knocked off the Heat, 88-80. And it proves once again that 4 is
still more 3 as the Celtic's Big 3 + Rondo were better on the night than the Heat's "big" 2 1/2.
Josh and Jeannette posted an amazing video from last year's game three of the Finals
that is just nothing short of WOW! Kind of like, ahem.
