Tonight was the first postseason baseball played in Cincinnati in 15 years. And the
first postseason game EVER at Great American Ball Park. What a gorgeous night for
National League Division Series postseason baseball in downtown Cincinnati...
Downtown was a buzz with excitement. Here's the scene at the In-Between Tavern...
I'm glad I got my ticket in advance because even the scalpers didn't have tickets.
The first 40,000 people through the gates got Reds Rally towels...
And there were some really cool NLDS t-shirts...
Watching the people flow into the ballpark was just amazing...
Here's the view from my seat...
And even though a new single game attendance record was set on the night, the Reds
ended up losing to the 'Illies 2-0 and got swept out of the NLDS. :( Bummer.
But what a season! For the Reds to actually be in the race for the NL Central crown
when many people though they were still a few years away. Then to win the NL Central
and make to the postseason for the first time in 15 years. It's just amazing. And this
team is still soo young and soo talented. It was a great season and I ended up going
to 33 baseball games. And I can't wait to do it all over again next year. WOW!
Thank you for a summer to remember, Cincinnati Reds.
