This was the third year that I've shot photos of the event. Remember 2008 and 2009?
And two time defending champion, Charlie (in the center) was back to defend his crown.
And of course, Charlie won his heat...

And defending champion Charlie got just edged out by a nose of the three-peat...
He got beat by the narrowest of margins by Greta, your new Running of the Weiner Champ!
Congratulations to Greta and her owners!
The Running of Weiners has to be one of my favorite events of the year on Fountain Square.
Afterwards were the Geuetlichkeit Games. Barrel Rolling races and Beer Stein races...
But they ran into technical difficulties with the barrels in the second heat...
And I had to head back to work. So I didn't get to see this year's Beer Stein race. :(
Still what a great kick-off to the big fun Oktoberfest Zinzinnati weekend!
