This evening the United States National Team qualified for their sixth straight World Cup
with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Honduras. The United States would qualify for the World Cup
with a win over Honduras or a Costa Rica loss. More shocking than the tight score line was
that a game of this importance was no where to be found on TV due to FIFA's messed up
televsion rights policies. Thanks FIFA. At least, you had the decency to present a live match
cast on your website. That was awful nice of you.
But I digress, the game featured the first two international goals for the USA's Conor Casey,
a wicked freekick that went far post, upper-ninety via Landon Donovan and a horribly botched
penalty kick from Honduras that would have tied the match at three all. The spot kick taker
put the ball a good three yards over the crossbar. Thank you, Honduras. We'll send you a
postcard from the World Cup in South Africa! FTW! Woot!
