You have got to be kidding me...

The Sears Tower in Chicago, ILLinois plans to open a glass-bottom Skydeck in June.
The Ledge, as it's being called, will be a four-foot, er... Ledge that will extended
out off of the side of the Sears Tower and allow anyone crazy enough to step out into
the thing to have an inch and a half of glass between them and pavement 103 stories
below. An inch and a half. Of glass. Between you and the concrete 1,353 feet straight
down. And it'll look like this...

The Ledge, originally uploaded by thadd.
I have to admit that I would scream like a little girl with a bug in her hair if
someone made me go out into this thing. I am not good with heights. Not one bit.
How could this possibly be safe? I wonder if there is some sort of weight requirement
to go out on the Ledge? I could just see the inch and a half of glass starting to
buckle under the weight of some sausage-loving Midwesterners. Or some plump little
kid jumping up and down in the thing. Just tempting fate. You wonder what's next?
Some sort of bungie contraption that dangles you off the side of the building and
then drops you 1350 feet? Ugh. I think I'll sit this one out. Thankyouverymuch.

Though, it would be awesome to put one of these things on one of the glass walls.
